During the summer months, George Junior Republic hires many college students pursuing careers in sports management to work in the programming/recreation department. Please see listed below brief descriptions of regularly posted positions: Job Title: Clinical Manager Job Summary: The Clinical Manager is the primary child-care personnel for the Special Needs Units. This position is designed to provide the daily services of security, safety and structure to the residents. The care, custody and supervision of the youth are primary concerns of the job. Work Hours: Clinical Managers will follow a monthly (every four weeks) rotating shift: Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., plus one 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. shift each week. Job Title: Counselor/Parent Job Summary: The Counselor/Parent serves as the primary childcare worker for youth who reside in the residential program. The function of the Counselor/Parent is to facilitate the behavioral and rehabilitation plans for each youth as defined by the treatment planning team and George Junior Republic. This is a live-in position that requires the Counselor/Parent to reside in the home to which they are assigned. Work Hours: Monday 5:00 p.m. to the following Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with a daily schedule of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Job Title: Counselor/Parent Assistant Job Summary: The Counselor/Parent Assistant is the primary personnel responsible for supervising and monitoring the youth when the Counselor/Parents are off duty. The Counselor/Parent Assistant serves as an adult role model for the residents and implements the behavioral reinforcement program. This position requires an ability to communicate clearly, a sound sense of judgment, and a constant awareness of the security and safety of the residents assigned to care. This position includes the daily monitoring of the youth in the assigned home and on campus. This position requires individuals to stay on campus throughout the assigned shift. Work Hours: The shifts are from each Thursday at 10:30 am through Saturday at 2:30 pm or from Saturday at 1:30 pm through Monday at 5:30 pm. This position is a salaried position. Job Title: Recreation Supervisor Job Summary: The recreation supervisor provides supervision to the residents during scheduled activity times. This job includes the monitoring of behaviors as well as functioning in the capacity of the director of the assigned activity. The recreation supervisor assists the youth in their participation of the activity by encouraging and teaching the skills necessary to enjoy, or at minimum learn the rules and guidelines of the sport, or recreational activity. Worker Job Summary: To function as a member of treatment team working with male adolescents in a residential facility with all supportive and ancillary services on ground. Social/Group Workers are responsible for, coordinating admissions and discharges for the treatment team, developing individual treatment plans and coordinating their implementation with the treatment team, educational staff, and recreational staff, providing individual and group therapy for all residents, and communications among George Junior Republic, families and referring agencies. The worker is also responsible for total program documentation including that of individual and group sessions, treatment plans, quarterly review of treatment plans, goals and objectives, contracting, etc. Finally, responsibilities include active participation in the supervisory process. Work Hours: Social Workers follow a Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday schedule. Three (3) of the weekday shifts are from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. with one (1) weekday shift from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) hours may be scheduled in any manner by the Social Worker. Aftercare Case Manager/Social Worker Job Summary: To establish positive goal direction and methods of attainment in order that youth refrain from delinquent activity or inappropriate behavior. To provide a positive family support system and structured family life. The program Social Worker will assess the strengths and weaknesses of the family as a group and as individuals. The Social Worker will serve as a case manager for the family in an effort to arrange for various community support services, i.e. mental health services, public assistance, vocational training, etc. The Social Worker will be responsible for the documentation of all direct and indirect contacts with the youth, his family and community support service staff. Clinical Summaries will be submitted to the referring agency with ongoing recommendations. The Social Worker is expected to attend all Court hearings and case conferences. In addition, the Social Worker will make weekly contact with the referring agency. The Social Worker will have direct personal contact with the youth at least once a day and will visit with the youth as they participate in various aspects of his program at school, work, home, recreation, and in the community. The Social Worker will meet with family, teachers, counselors, employers and others involved in the youth’s various programs. These contacts will be made at various times of the day and night. The Social Worker will also be on call in the event of a crisis or emergency at all times. |
